Rescuer Equipment

Rescuer equipment carried in canoes on all trips:
  • Adventure Medical Kits "Comprehensive Watersports Kit"
  • Portable VHF Marine Radio (for communication with the US Coast Guard and/or commercial vessels)
  • Cell phone kept in dry box (cell phone communication is possible in most sections of operating range)
  • NRS Pro Rescue Ropes (2/canoe)
  • Dry bag with tent, sleeping bag, tarps and extra fleece clothing
  • Dry bag filled with extra cords, ropes, and NRS straps
  • NRS Z-drag kit
  • Extra food
  • Extra water
  • Paper & pens for recording all journal-keeping, river notes, and any information in case of rescue or emergency
  • Guide wears Universal Rescuer Type III/V Lifejacket
Note: All life jackets are fitted with safety whistles and equal or exceed US Coast Guard Type III requirements
